Being a spouse, son, daughter, parent, or friend of a paranormal researcher might trigger the question what the heck are they doing when they leaving at night.
Why are they spending the night in a stranger’s home and looking for something what freaks out most “normal” people? For that reason, once a year the League of Paranormal Investigators organize a family day where they can meet and greet friends and family members of our investigators.
As part of this experience we also attend a real investigation.

In the summer of 2008 we decided to start this family day event on the beaches in Key Biscayne with a nice BBQ in the park with access to the beach.
|
During the afternoon we came together for a social gathering where we talked about normal stuff and enjoyed the food and drinks brought by all participating members.
It was nice to meet everybody and even a little bit of rain didn’t spoil this day.
The most important part of the family day was of course the gathering at night where we had a reinvestigation of Fort Dallas and Wagner Homestead.
Knowing that Wagner Homestead might still have a negative entity present we decided that this was off limits for all the youngsters on our team.

Our host for that night was the current caretaker William Keddel who started the evening off with explaining about the rich history for Miami and the significance of the two historic buildings.
After the introduction all guests were split up in smaller teams and got introduced to the paranormal field by one of our experienced investigators.

This was a great opportunity for all members to practice their dowsing rod skill. Danny and Taylor are looking for lye lines which might cross through Lumus park.

At the end of this family day we were happy to see that everybody enjoyed this special event and all participants are already looking forward to next year’s family day.
